What is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is a natural, botanical compound found in hemp and marijuana plants. This means that CBD can technically be derived from either hemp or marijuana plants.
All Indica Dreams products are derived from hemp, not marijuana, to guarantee there is less than 0.3% THC in every batch.
Is CBD safe?
Yes, CBD is considered safe for short and long term use. The World Health Organization states that….
There are “no public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”
“In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.”
“CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile.”
If you are on medication, please ask your doctor before use to check for any potential interactions with CBD.
Does CBD come from marijuana or hemp? What’s the difference?
CBD can be extracted from either hemp or marijuana. But at Indica Dreams, we extract 100% of our CBD from hemp, because hemp plants are guaranteed to contain less than 0.3% of THC (such a low level that you won’t feel any THC effects).
Marijuana plants, on the other hand, may contain much higher levels of THC. THC can cause a “high,” while CBD does not.
Do your products contain THC? Will I get high?
No, you will not get high with any Indica Dreams product! Our products may contain very small amounts of THC, as THC is naturally occurring in the hemp plant. But any THC is guaranteed to be below 0.3% in our products (and our COAs prove it!). At 0.3%, you won’t feel any effects of THC.
It’s kind of like drinking a glass of water with a grain of sugar in it–you wouldn’t be able to notice the sugar, and it’s such a small amount that it won’t significantly affect your body either.
Is CBD legal in my state?
If you live in the US, yes, as long as it’s hemp-derived.
In 2018, the federal government passed the 2018 Farm Bill, which stated that Cannabis plants containing less than 0.3% THC (in other words, hemp plants) are legal in all 50 states. But the FDA continues to regulate hemp products like CBD, much like they regulate any food, beverage, or supplement.
What does this mean for you? Just make sure you’re buying 100% hemp-derived CBD to guarantee that your CBD is not derived from marijuana (which may or may not be legal in your state).
All Indica Dreams products are 100% hemp-derived, contain less than 0.3% THC, comply with the 2018 Farm Bill, and are legal in all 50 states.
How does CBD work?
Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system, which is theorized to affect many important processes:
- Mood and stress regulation
- Pain and nervous system
- Immune system
CBD is believed to work by influencing the endocannabinoid system, which is why reported benefits of CBD have been linked to sleep, mood, muscle/joint discomfort, and much more!
What does CO2 extraction mean?
CO2, of course, is carbon dioxide, something that is naturally occurring in humans. CO2 extraction is the process of using carbon dioxide to extract the good-for-you parts of the hemp plant, like CBD, from the rest of the plant matter.
It works by heating and pressurizing CO2 gas into its liquid form, pumping it through the hemp plant matter where CO2 bonds with CBD (and other beneficial compounds). Then the CO2 is changed back into a gas, leaving behind only the good-for-you stuff when it evaporates.
At Indica Dreams, we use CO2 because it’s considered safe by the FDA. In fact, CO2 is what’s used in many beverages, like soda.
As an amazing bonus, CO2 extraction is considered an eco-friendly, sustainable method of extraction.
How much CBD should I take?
The right dosage and strength are different for everybody. The best thing you can do is to be intentional and conscious of how you feel throughout your CBD journey and adjust accordingly.
If you’re new to CBD, we recommend you start with a low dose of low-strength CBD and see how you feel. If you find that you aren’t experiencing any benefits, then consider increasing your dose. Eventually, you might increase the strength of the CBD, too.
Indica Dreams products come with an easy-to-follow recommended “standard” and “advanced” dose. If you’re new to CBD, start with the standard dose and see how you feel before increasing it!
When should I take CBD? / How often should I take CBD?
You should take CBD at the time that works best for your body, and as often as feels good for you. There’s no right or wrong answer!
What does matter? Consistency. Find a routine that works for you and stick to it.
We recommend that you start with one dose a day at the time when you most need support. Customers who take CBD for more restful sleep prefer to take CBD before bed, while customers who take CBD to improve general functioning may prefer to take CBD in the morning.
Whatever you decide, we have formulated our Full-Spectrum Hemp CBD Oil for you. Choose from our Nighttime version or Daytime version to make it work with YOUR routine.
Can I add CBD to food or drink instead of taking it by itself?
Yes, you can! You can add our Full-Spectrum Hemp CBD Oil to salads, smoothies, coffee, or any food or beverage you’d like.
What is full-spectrum CBD? Why are your products full-spectrum?
Answer: There are three types of CBD used in products: Full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate.
Full-spectrum CBD means that the CBD contains all the other cannabinoids found alongside it in the hemp plant. Cannabinoids are closely related botanical compounds found in hemp, including CBD, tiny amounts of THC, flavonoids, and terpenes.
Okay, so you know what CBD and THC are… but what about flavonoids and terpenes? Flavonoids are phytonutrients found in most plants, and they’re rich in antioxidants (they’re also what give vegetables and fruits their vibrant colors!). Terpenes are highly aromatic compounds found in plants, including hemp, and they are what give plants their beautiful natural scents.
Broad-spectrum CBD is similar to full-spectrum CBD, but it undergoes an additional round of processing to remove any trace amounts of THC.
CBD isolate is CBD that has been completely isolated from any other compounds in the hemp plant. It’s “pure CBD.” However, CBD isolate may not be as effective because it doesn’t include the other compounds–which are supposed to all work together.
At Indica Dreams, we use full-spectrum (or “whole-plant”) CBD because it means that you get the full benefits of the plant, and it’s also the least processed type of CBD (more natural!). Plus, any trace amounts of THC are so tiny that they will not have any psychoactive effects, so there’s no need to do a whole other round of processing just to remove it.
What is the entourage effect?
You may have heard of the “entourage effect” as you were researching CBD. The entourage effect refers to the idea that all the botanical compounds in hemp amplify one another when they are consumed or applied together. These botanical compounds can include CBD along with flavonoids, terpenes, and tiny amounts of THC,.
In other words: Just like you might be a more reserved person when you’re alone but come alive with your close friends, CBD may become even more effective when it’s consumed along with its natural “friends” (other botanical compounds found in the hemp plant).
We use full-spectrum CBD for most of our products to take advantage of the entourage effect and deliver whole-plant goodness to you!
Will your products show up on a drug test?
It’s highly unlikely that ingesting Indica Dreams products will cause a positive drug test. That’s because we use 100% hemp-derived CBD, which is guaranteed to contain less than 0.3% of THC. That’s by far not enough to show up on most drug tests (or cause any psychoactive effects in your body).
We encourage all customers to download the COA for each product they purchase, so they can be completely at ease that their product contains only trace amounts of THC.
Do you test your products?
Oh yes! We test every product three times. The first test is a large batch test by the farm in Nevada where we get our organic hemp. The second test is a small batch test by the lab that extracts the CBD. The final test is one we order personally after bottling, to be sure there is no contamination.
Many CBD companies rely completely on the tests done by the manufacturer or the farm, rather than ordering their own final test after bottling. This means they’re outsourcing trust to a third party that may or not be transparent for consumers. At Indica Dreams, we want to be 100% sure that our CBD contains exactly what it’s supposed to, so we test it ourselves and share those tests directly with consumers.
To see the lab results for these tests, you can download the COA for every product on the product page
Is your CBD organic?
Yes, our CBD is made from organically grown hemp (from Nevada). This means that our CBD does not contain any harmful pesticides.
Can pets take CBD?
Yes! The World Health Organization found that CBD had no dangerous effects on animals or humans. In addition, a few studies have shown promising results for therapeutic effects on dogs. For example, one study found CBD improved the mobility and quality of life for dogs with osteoarthritis.
